kidnap, ransom & extortion
It's a dangerous world... It's a dangerous game... And you have to be prepared to pay the ultimate price...
KR&E Insurance
Policies to protect should the day ever come

Over the last 25 years in dealing with KR&E situations, we found that much of the time people were unprepared and financially unable to meet the demands of the hostage takers on many, many occasions.
After years of due diligence and research, we developed a relationship through Lloyds of London to be able to offer Kidnap, Ransom and Extortion insurance to our clients with low rates for the best coverage around.
The only question you need to ask is, 'Can you afford not to have it'?
A typical K&R policy includes the following:
~ Kidnap and ransom coverage: Pays ransom, and most policies insure ransom money while it's in transit ("delivery coverage").
~ Payment of security company fees.
~ Extortion coverage: Protection for threats against company property, contamination of products, and computer systems.
~ Expense reimbursement: Includes travel expenses for security consultants, family members, and the kidnapped employee. Also covers the abductee's lost salary, and legal services.
N.B. When comparing K&R policies pay careful attention to any limitations or exclusions as well as other excluded but related costs that might not be covered. You'll be surprised at the differences.
K&R Facts
The more you travel, the more at risk you are, it really is that simple.
On 16th September 1974 two brothers, sons of the Chairman and founder of 'Bunge Born' (of Argentina), were kidnapped from their car. Even though they lived under constant security and escort, they made the simple mistake of leaving home at the same time each day to drop their kids off at school. After being held hostage for approx. nine months, a ransom of $60 million was paid and they were released. They were lucky.
There are no two words that instill more panic in the lives of countless people every single day than the words 'Kidnap' and 'Ransom'. Although many times hostage takers do release prisoners if a ransom is paid, many times they don't. Consider these statistics:
~ 1 child will be kidnapped or go missing every 40 seconds in the United States alone (2000 per day).
~ Over 18% of these will be in the care of a nanny or equivalent.
~
Approx. 82 people will be kidnapped today (30,000 per year) around the world.
~ In 2009 alone, there were 1200 kidnappings for ransom in Mexico.
~ The top 3 countries for kidnappings are Venezuela, Philippines and Mexico.
~ The average ransom demand is over $1 million.
